3M™ Cubitron™ ll Sanding Belt 784F features 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology. Our linen sanding belts are a precise blend of moulded ceramic material and premium quality aluminium oxide. The sanding belts have a flexible cotton J-weight backing and an open construction. The belts also feature a water-resistant backing and Grinding Aid.

Use the 3M™ Cubitron™ ll Sanding Belt 784F for a faster, more consistent and durable cut than aluminium oxide belts. Our linen sanding belts are a precise blend of moulded ceramic material and premium quality aluminium oxide. They provide optimum cutting action when cutting and blending at medium pressure. Our linen sanding belts cut exceptionally fast and remain continuously sharp because the material renews itself. These professional grade belts provide cost-effective performance in medium-pressure applications where an all-ceramic belt is overqualified. With the water-resistant polyester backing, these belts can be used both wet and dry. To protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, nickel and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracking and discolouration, these belts are equipped with a grinding aid that lowers the operating temperature. In addition, the abrasive is firmly resin-bonded to the backing for extra durability at high temperatures and pressure. Rougher grain belts (36-80) feature YF weight backing. For the finer grain size (120-180), this is the lighter XF grade. Both classes are fairly flexible and mould well to light contours and flat surfaces. The application of 3M Precision Shaped Grain is a major advance in abrasive technology. PSG is a ceramic mineral especially designed with a proprietary process that increases the hardness and wear resistance of the grain. The scientists at 3M have gone a step further and precision engineered the mineral into triangular grains that continuously break down into super-sharp points and edges with wear. This allows them to cut through the material like a knife, rather than gouging or plowing like conventional abrasives.
