The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Sanding Belt 967F with high-quality 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology on a strong and heavy polyester backing. Our linen sanding belts are equipped with a grinding aid.

The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Sanding Belt 967F has an excellent lifespan and is highly suitable for cutting in high pressure applications. Our durable belts are equipped with 3M Precision Shaped Grain mineral. This means that the belts need to be changed less often and that you can machine more components with a single belt. The belts provide excellent cutting performance on carbon steel, nickel alloys and high speed steel, guaranteeing increased productivity. These belts feature a grinding aid for the best performance on titanium and other heat-sensitive materials. The belts are recommended for wet or dry cutting under medium to high pressure, such as in eccentric grinding system or roller grinding applications. The heavy backing provides good adhesion and prevents the belt from rolling up. The performance of the heavy backing is greater compared to other linen backings. The belt supports demanding applications and delivers a consistent cutting action. The backing is resin bonded and resistant to high temperatures and pressure. The Science Behind the 3M™ Precision Shaped Grain Technology The application of Precision Shaped Grain (PSG) is a major advance in abrasive technology. PSG is a ceramic mineral especially designed with a proprietary process that increases the hardness and wear resistance of the grain. The scientists at 3M have gone a step further and precision engineered the mineral into triangular grains that continuously break down into super-sharp points and edges with wear. This allows them to cut through the material to be machined like a knife through butter, preventing grooves or furrows like with conventional abrasives. PSG results in a super-fast cutting action and limits the development of heat in the material to be processed, so that less heat-related stress cracks and discolouration occur. Because our products with PSG stay cooler and sharper, they also last longer than conventional abrasives.
